4 days in Dubai!

For us, Dubai was predominantly about indulgent eating and drinking, having some down time after the wedding, and spending quality time with friends. We both had such a brilliant time! We wouldn't have been able to do what we did here if it wasn't for our school friend who moved to Dubai a few years ago, who put us up and hosted us - thanks so much Shyam!

Dubai in 4 days: 

See the city at night by car

Eat Falafel and drink with friends 

Eat breakfast at Friends Avenue (use the Entertainer app to get offers around Dubai) 

Travel using the metro, or use it to cross over 

Explore Marina Mall

Eat lunch at Café Italia Marina Bay Mall 

Eat ice-cream, everywhere! 

Drink coffee at Tim Hortons (had to stick this one in because we don't have a chain in London!) 

Eat / Sheesh / People watch outside the Marina at Shakespear & Co.

Walk back to explore (walking a lot is rare in Dubai due to the heat) 

Explore Dubai Mall: shop, see the fountains, indoor aquarium and Burj Khalifa

Eat in Old Town (we went to Spice Klub, I loved it!)

Explore JBR 

Eat breakfast at Eggspectations

Explore Dubai Mall; I had to go back - it's huge! 

Drink at 101 - One&Only, for sunset - it's beautiful here! 

Eat at Marina Social 

Sheesh at Shades (Address hotel)

Eat breakfast at Baker Street Cafe (JLT - the owner is from Edgware)

Chill on the roof top pool 

Indulge at Black Tap (burgers and giant milkshakes) 

Chill at JBR 

Dessert at Pappa Roti

Sunset / sheesh at Koubba Bar (Madinat Jumeirah, Mina al Salam and Al Qasr hotels) 

Peaks:

I went to Dubai with family 20+ years ago when construction hadn't even started, it is completely different now! I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it, but thanks to Shyam, Krishan, Nik, Binita and Sagar I feel like I really got to see why it has become such an attractive place the live. From the outside, the rules to live by seem strict, but I left feeling a little less judgemental after seeing the impact on safety, standard of living and opportunities.

Pits:

£££ - Our backpacker budget goal was GBP 50 a day; hands down, we went over. We would have seriously broken the bank doing what we did if it wasn't for Shyam putting us up!

If I could go again, I would also:

Skydive over the Palm 

Ski Dubai 

Visit Atlantis The Palm 

Visit Expo2020Dubai

Desert Safari: do Dune Bashing and Sandboarding 

Expand to include trips to Riyadh and Abu Dhabi
